NFR Calf Roper
Lanham has been a world-class roper, showed world-champion horses, served as a horse judge in some of the grandest shows. Riley's first competition was in 1946, just after his discharge from the Army Air Corps. Twenty years later, he roped his last calf in Fort Worth. It qualified him for the National Finals Rodeo. Over the years, Riley rodeoed at Madison Square Garden, Boston Garden, and many high-dollar match ropings in private pastures throughout the West . He
rodeoed with the best, beat them and then made them lifelong friends. He is one of the most respected horsemen in the country.
